5th Baghdad blast: 2 wounded
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Two civilians on Monday were wounded when a sticky explosive charge detonated in southwestern Baghdad, the fifth blast to hit the capital today. “A sticky improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a civilian vehicle in al-Saydiya area, southwestern Baghdad, wounding two civilians,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier in the day, a police source said that two civilians were killed and eight others were wounded when an explosives-rigged car detonated at the entrance of al-Husseiniya neighborhood, northern Baghdad. Meanwhile, two blasts in Baghdad’s areas of al-Naieriya and al-Alawi killed seven persons, including a security guard, and wounded 19 others. A fourth blast was caused by a car bomb near a gas station in Sadr city’s al-Dakhel area, northeastern Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding five others. SS (P) 1
