76 extremists killed in Alas and Ajeel including foreigners, says Tigris Operations

(IraqiNews.com) Diyala – The commander of Tigris Operations Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir al-Zaidi announced on Saturday the killing of 76 “extremists” in the battles of Alas and Ajeel, including European and Asian elements, stressing that ISIS lost the most prominent leaders in three regions.
Al-Zaidi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Elements of Tigris Operations, backed by the army, police and al-Hashed al-Shaabi volunteers succeeded in the killing of 76 extremists belonging to ISIS organization, including European and Asian elements, in the battles of Alas and Ajeel oilfields north of Salah al-Din, in addition to destroying 17 vehicles, mostly carrying weapons mono guns.”
Al-Zaidi added that: “ISIS has been subjected to a major setback; it has lost its most prominent field commanders in the areas of al-Howayja , Sharqat and Hamrin as a result of painful blows by the Tigris Operations, which applied a distinctive security strategy to protect the oil fields from ISIS attacks.”
