8 wanted persons captured in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Eight persons wanted on criminal and terrorist charges were arrested in Basra on Friday, a local police source said. “Local police forces conducted search raids all over the province, arresting a man wanted on terrorist charges and seven others on criminal charges,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A man and woman who had stolen gold from a resident in Baghdad were among those arrested. Three kilograms of gold were seized in their possession,” he added. The oil-rich port city of Basra, Iraq’s only outlet to waterways, lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
