9 Kurd – Turkomen students in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: At least nine students have been injured in clashes that erupted between Kurdish and Turkomen students in Kirkuk’s Technological Institute on Monday, a Kirkuk Hospital source said. “Kirkuk’s General Hospital has received 9 injured students, wounded due to clashes between the students in Kirkuk’s Technological Institute,” the medical source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Kirkuk’s Police Director, Lt. Brigadier Ahmed Smirany, told IraqiNews.com earlier in the day that the said Institute had witnessed clashes between Turkomen and Kurdish students, on the occasion of the ‘Turkoman Martyr’s Day,’ causing some injuries on both sides.   Kirkuk is 250 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
