Ahdab oil field company receives threats

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Chinese company working on Al-Ahdab oil field received threats from unknown quarters, security sources said today. The source told IraqiNews.com that the Chinese Al-Waha Company today received threats against its employees if they leave the parameters of the work, 25 km west of Kut. He added that the police found threatening signs on the road leading to the oil field. An investigation was launched by the police to uncover who made the threats. Ahdab oil field, discovered in 1979,  began its experimental pumping last July, with a capacity of 60,000 b/d. It is expected to reach 200,000 b/d capacity, with reserves of 225 million barrels.
