Al-Baghdadi will be admitted to Judiciary – BOC

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The leader of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, is currently being interrogated and will be admitted to the Judiciary once the process is complete, the official spokesperson of the Baghdad Operation Command BOC said on Wednesday. “Al-Baghdadi will be admitted to the Judiciary when the interrogation is complete,” General Qassem Atta told IraqiNews.com news agency. Interrogations conducted by Iraqi authorities proved that the man who was arrested last Thursday (April 23) is Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the leader of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq. General Atta made this announcement at a press conference in Baghdad on April 29 while displaying al-Baghdadi’s photo to the pressmen under the condition that they should not address questions. “The arrest operation was conducted by Iraqi forces after intelligence efforts over a period of two months,” Atta said. “Al-Baghdadi’s photo matches the confirmed intelligence information we already have,” he added. Atta did not mention further details, but noted that the results of interrogations will be announced. MH (S)/SH 1
