AQI woman arrested in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested in Diala on Tuesday a woman affiliated with Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) Organization, said a security source from the province. He said that the woman is responsible for detonating a taxi in central Miqdadiya suburb on Monday Sept. 21, 2009. “The arrest took place in an operation at Palestine neighborhood of Miqdadiya, 45 km east of Baaquba city,” the source told Iraqi News. He said that the taxi driver, who was wounded in the blast but was able to survive, tipped off police forces about the woman. “The female’s husband and two of her brothers had been arrested for their suspected links to the AQI,” the source said. “They all were released few months ago.” Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
