Armed robbery gangs arrested in Karbala
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Three armed robbery gangs have been arrested in Karbala province, a local media director said on Monday. “Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department arrested a three-member gang in al-Huseiniya district on charges of stealing hundreds of millions of Iraqi dinars, gold jewelry and cows,” Maj. Alaa Abbas told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Another gang, comprised of three persons, was captured in Bab Tuweirij area after stealing $64,000 U.S. dollars and gold jewelry,” the major pointed out. A third gang, comprised of two, was also nabbed after conducting armed robberies against several traders in the city, the major indicated. “Investigations are currently underway,” he added.
