Arms cache seized in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Wassit policemen seized an arms cache in eastern al-Kut city on Saturday, according to a local police source. “A force from the Wassit Police Command’s Internal Affairs Department seized a weapons cache in the area of Ghabat al-Karidiya, eastern Kut, based on intelligence tip-offs and local residents’ collaboration,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The cache contained 41 mortar shells of different calibers, 30 RPG-7 shells, home-made explosive charges, live ammunition for various types of weapons and powder used to make explosive devices,” the source added.
