At least 10 killed, 39 wounded in violent acts across Iraq
BAGHDAD/IraqiNews.com: About ten individuals killed and 39 others wounded in the violent acts that took place across Iraq over the past 24 hours. In Baghdad, four civilians were killed and 12 others injured when a car bomb went off in Jihad district, west Baghdad, on Tuesday an Iraqi security source. A Baghdad police source said a sticky roadside bomb went off against a civilian car; leaving one civilian killed and seven others wounded. An IED ripped through al-Nahda, central Baghdad, leaving four civilians wounded, a police source said. A roadside bomb detonated on al-Nidal street, central Baghdad, wounding three civilians, the source added. In Ninewa, unidentified gunmen opened fire today on eight newly-recruited policemen while they were heading for work in al-Amil neighborhood, western Mosul, killing four of them and injuring four others, a security source said. A police source said two Iraqi army soldiers were wounded when two mortar shells landed near their vehicle patrol followed by an armed attack by unknown gunmen in al-Sedeq neighborhood in northern Mosul. A car rigged with explosives went off today near a checkpoint in the area of al-Bursa, western Mosul, leaving five individuals including two policemen, wounded, a police source said. A Ninewa security source said a policeman was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Bab Sinjar district, west Mosul, while goldsmith was seriously wounded when gunmen broke into his shop in central Mosul.
