IS attacks Tikrit and kills 4 volunteer soldiers
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin Province declared that four members of al-Hashd al-Ashaeri and one member of the Islamic State were killed in an attack launched by the extremist group, east of Tikrit, Alsumaria News reported on Tuesday.
The source said, “Members of the Islamic State group attacked, at yesterday evening, locations of Iraqi security forces in the axis of Tal Kasiba-Hadadiyah (40 km east of Tikrit), and clashed with them using different kinds of weapons, as well as taking over a headquarters belonging to al-Hashd al-Ashaeri.”
“The attack resulted in the killing of four members of al-Hashd al-Ashaeri and one member of the Islamic State group, in addition to wounding a volunteer soldier,” the source added on condition of anonymity.
The source further explained that the Army Aviation bombarded headquarters belonging to the Islamic State, and managed to terminate the attack.
