Attempt to break into Taji, Abu Ghraib prisons foiled

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The security forces foiled an attempt to break into Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons by some unidentified gunmen.

A security source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The security forces used the helicopters and attacked the gunmen who were clashing with the guards to free the prisons.”

“Violent classed happened near the two prisons due to the attack,” the source concluded.

Earlier, a security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The gunmen used all kinds of weapons during the armed clashes with the security forces tasked to guard the prison, ” noting that ”The gunmen used Improvised Explosive Devices, Anti-Tanks missile launchers (RPG) and machineguns.”
