5 members of al-Hashd al-Shaabi were either killed or wounded when a bomb exploded targeting their patrol.

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior revealed on Sunday reported on five casualties received by al-Hashd al-Shaabi in a bomb blast in western Baghdad.

According to information shared by the source, it was stated, “An improvised explosive device exploded, at noon today. The IED blast was targeting on a patrol of al-Hashd al-Shaabi members while it was passing through al-Zidan village in Abu Gharib district in western Baghdad. In the blast, one member was killed on the sport while five others were wounded apart from damages caused to the vehicle.”

Adding further the source said, “Security forces rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital and the dead body was transferred to the forensic department. An operation to apprehend those involved in the bombing has also been launched.”
