Bomb explosion leaves three Iraqis wounded in Muthanna

Muthanna (IraqiNews.com) – Three people were wounded Sunday in a bomb explosion in the Iraqi governorate of Muthanna, a security source was quoted as saying.
“An Iraqi man threw a grenade at his neighbor’s house during a tribal conflict at a district in central Muthanna governorate, leaving three civilians wounded,” the source told Baghdad Today website.
According to the source, the security forces rushed to the blast site immediately and transferred those wounded in the bomb attack into a nearby hospital for treatment.
Violence left 174 Iraqis dead and wounded throughout the month of October, according to a monthly toll released by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI).
In December, former Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced gaining control on all the territories that were captured by Islamic State since 2014.
However, Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.
The group still has dormant cells, through which it carries out attacks, across Iraq like it used to do before 2014.
Thousands of Islamic State militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition was launched in October 2016.
