Diyala PD: More than five thousand policemen killed, injured in Diyala since 2003

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Diyala Police Directorate stated that more than five thousand policemen were killed and injured since 2003.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan quoted the head of the Media Department of Diyala PD, Major Ghalib Atea, as saying “After liberating Iraq in 2003 and till 2012, more than five thousand of the police elements were killed and injured which makes it the largest number among the provinces.”

“About 1951 elements of the Federal Police were killed and 3522 others were injured,” he concluded.
