ISIS cuts fighters’ salaries to $200
(IraqiNews.com) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights released a document disseminated by ISIS in al-Raqqa, Syria confirming that ISIS will reduce its fighters’ salaries in Syria and Iraq by half – from $400 to $200 USD. ISIS suffered financial distress due to shelling of the coalition forces, in addition to Russian Air Force attacks directed against oil resources controlled by the organization.
According to a statement obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights ISIS stated, “Because of the exceptional circumstances that ISIS is passing through, a decision was taken to cut the salaries of the fighters in half.”
The statement added, “No one will be exempt from the decision no matter his position,” pointing out that, “the distribution of food assistance will continue as usual.”
ISIS explained the decision in the statement and continued, “Jihad with money preceded self-Jihad in Qur’an in nine positions, while self-Jihad preceded Jihad with money in only one position.”
The Director in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdel Rahman explained, that the fighters’ salaries will be reduced from $400 to $200.
