Electrical device bombs seized in Baaquba
DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Security forces in Diala seized electrical device bombs in central Baaquba city during a search raid on Friday, according to the province’s police chief. “The forces seized a refrigerator and a satellite receiver that contained explosive materials inside an abandoned building of the Reformatory Prison in al-Amin neighborhood, central Baaquba,” Maj. General Abdulhussein al-Shimari told Iraqi News. “The security personnel detonated the explosive electrical devices without any incident,” Shimari added. Diala, until a recent time one of the hottest spots in Iraq, is home to several strongholds of female armed organizations working for hard-line Islamist groups, namely the AQI and the self-styled Islamic State of Iraq. The volatile province had witnessed more than 30 suicide bombing attacks carried out by women during the past six years. Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
