Falluja blasts’ casualties up to 42
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: The death toll from Thursday’s earlier two blasts in Falluja city rose to seven and the wounded to 35, a medic said. “The deaths rose to seven after a police captain died of the wounds he had sustained while the number of wounded persons rose to 35,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “The Anbar police chief, Maj. General Tareq Youssef, visited hospitals in the city to check on the people wounded in the explosions,” he added. Earlier, eyewitnesses said two successive blasts rocked the city of Falluja, leaving a number of casualties, adding security authorities imposed a curfew amidst extensive deployment of security forces. Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of Baghdad. Anbar’s capital, al-Ramadi, lies 110 km west of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
