First model checkpoint in Iraq opens in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The Karbala police command on Monday opened the first model checkpoint in Iraq at a total cost of around 1.234 billion Iraqi dinars, according to the command’s projects manager. “Karbala police chief, Maj. General Othman al-Ghanemi, opened the checkpoint at the city’s outlet towards Hilla, 35 km eastern Karbala,” Major Raed Dekhil told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The checkpoint, considered among the interior ministry’s investment projects, was carried out by a local company within 230 days,” he said.
