Five civilians injured in east Baghdad blast
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Five Iraqi civilians have been injured in an explosive charge blast in eastern Baghdad ’s al-Sadr city on Wednesday, a security source said. “An explosive charge, planted on the roadside in east Baghdad ’s al-Sadr city, blew off on Wednesday morning, wounding 5 civilians, who were driven to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Iraqi capital of Baghdad had witnessed an escalation of security violations over the past few days, mainly the killing of 4 anti-terrorism officers, including Lt. Brigadier, Moayad Saleh and a similar number were wounded, along with 11 armed men in Baghdad’s Rusafa Prison on 7/5/2011. Several other attacks took place against Iraqi Army, police and state officials in a series of explosive charges blasts over the past few days, amid failure by leading political forces to agree on the appointment of security cabinet ministers.
