Four IS militants killed in foiled attack east of Baiji
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin revealed that security forces killed four members of the Islamic State, after foiling the group’s attack on east of Baiji, north of Salahuddin, Alsumaria News reported on Saturday.
The source said, “Security forces foiled an attack launched by the Islamic State group on al-Fatha intersection, east of Baiji.”
“Four members of the Islamic State were killed, and an unidentified number of militants were wounded during the attack, while security forces seized large quantities of weapons in the enemy’s area,” the source added on condition of anonymity.
The source also informed that seven members of al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces, that repulsed the attack, were wounded.
Earlier today, Iraqi security forces repulsed an armed attack launched by the Islamic State terrorist group on the western side of Sharqat that was liberated earlier by security forces, and killed 15 members of the group, who tried to sneak into the city.
