Freedom base in Kirkuk hit by 3 rockets
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: The Joint Coordination in Kirkuk announced today that three Katyusha rockets were directed against Hurriyah (Freedom) base here. The source told IraqiNews.com that the base comprised forces for the army, police and Beishmarga elements, in addition to the permanent US consulate in Kirkuk. The base was the center for the US forces in Kirkuk before their withdrawal on 17 November 2011. No other details were given on the nature of the attacks and possible casualties in the base.
