2 Gunmen arrested in Wasit

Wassit, Kut (IraqiNews.com) A Security force arrested two gunmen in northern Wassit province.

Security source stated to Iraqi News IraqiNews.com on Monday that “The security force, which belongs to the Ministry of Interior, managed to arrest two gunmen affiliated to the Terrorist Qaeda Organization in a village of northern Wassit,” noting that “One of the detainees is have a Syrian nationality.”

The source added “The arrest operation was based on intelligence information.”

The source pointed out that ”The gunmen were involved in emplacing Improvised Explosive Devices and implementing armed attacks against civilians.”

The source continued saying that ”The gunmen were attempting to implement terrorist operation in Aziziya district,” noting that “The gunmen are imprisoned in a detention center for investigation in order to present them to investigation judge.” \
