Gunmen blow up house in Abu Ghraib

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: One police officer and his wife were killed when unknown gunmen blew up their house in Abu Ghraib district, a local police source said on Wednesday. “Unknown gunmen planted explosive devices and TNT explosives around the house of a policeman in Khan Dari district, Abu Ghraib (western Baghdad),” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The blast killed Lt. Col. Shalal Obeid and his wife, who were inside the house at the time of the explosion, the source pointed out. A man who was passing by the house when the explosion occurred was wounded, the source added. A security cordon was thrown around the house and all roads leading to the scene of the blast were blocked, according to the same source. SS (P)/SR 1
