Gunmen kidnap girl north of Kut
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: An armed group kidnapped a girl in north of Kut and took her to unknown place, a police source said on Wednesday. “Unknown gunmen kidnapped a girl in central Nuaamaniya district in north of Kut and took her to unknown place,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “Police forces deployed in the region to arrest the gunmen and free the girl,” he added. He did not give more details. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy.
