Habaniya attack leaves 38 wounded – U.S. army
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The suicide bombing attack that ripped through a training center of al-Habaniya base, western Falluja city, left 38 wounded, the media advisor of the U.S. army said on Friday. “The suicide attack which targeted a training center of al-Habaniya base on Thursday (April 16) injured 38 policemen and caused no deaths,” Muqdad Jebreel told IraqiNews.com news agency. The defense ministry had said yesterday that a group of recruits of the 1st Division came under a suicide attack by a gunman wearing military uniform while they were returning from training at the center in al-Habaniya base. A medic from the Ramadi Hospital had said that casualties of the suicide bombing attack rose to 18 deaths and 50 injuries, estimating the death toll is likely to rise as 10 of the wounded are in a critical condition. Falluja is 45 km west of Baghdad, while Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar, is 110 km west of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
