High-level gov. delegation in Ramadi to discuss security situation
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A high-level delegation, led by Iraq’s Acting Defense Minister has arrived in Ramadi, the center of west Iraq’s Anbar Province, on Saturday to discuss the security situation, the Ministry’s Spokesman, Mohammed al-Askary reported. “The Acting Defense Minister and an official from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces have arrived in Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, to discuss the security situation with its officials and tribal chieftains,” Askari told the semi-official al-Iraqiya TV Satellite Channel. The delegation has headed to attend a funeral procession for one of the victims from Monday’s al-Nukheib massacre. A joint force had launched an offensive in Anbar’s Rutba township, arresting 20 persons, including Sheikhs Abdul-Alim Hamid and Abduk-Hakim al-Duleimy of Rutba Mosques, thing that pushed the Anbar Administration to charge the Karbala Council with having behind the operation, charging it with having been an attempt to revenge the victims of al-Nukhieb massacre. Noteworthy is that 22 men have been killed by a terrorist gang that attacked a bus, carrying 40 passengers on their way back for Karbala from Syria, after forcing women and children out of the bus and killing all the men that were taken away from the bus last Monday.
