International coalition: ISIS have lost control over 40 pc Iraq
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The US-led international coalition affirmed on Monday, that it has provided support to the Iraqi forces that liberated Fallujah and further said that ISIS in the last six months apart from loosing 25,000 of its fighters, it has also lost 40 per cent of the total land from its control in Iraq.
The spokesman of the international coalition Chris Garver said, “The international coalition provided support through air strikes, intelligence inputs and consultancy to the Iraqi forces who fought in Fallujah,” adding, “The coalition will continue supporting Iraqi security forces in the ongoing operations to liberate Fallujah.”
Adding further Garver said, “These combat operations were difficult and there is a lot of things to be done before the displaced people return to their houses.”
“ISIS has lost control over 40 per cent of the territories that it was controlling in Iraq. The areas that it lost control in the last six months inlcude Heet, Rutba, and Ramadi in Iraq, in addition to the strategic Tishrin Dam and its former stronghold in the city of al-Shaddadah in Syria,” he continued.
Garver also pointed out, “More than 725 thousand displaced people have returned to their houses in Iraq due to the efforts exercised to achieve stability with the aid of the countries participating in the coalition,” adding, “Nearly 25,000 ISIS fighters have been killed till now.”
