Iranian shelling on Iraqi Kurdistan borders resumed, woman killed – 2 others injured
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The number of victims, caused by the resumption of Iranian shelling of northern Iraq’s Kurdistan border areas on Sunday, has reached one woman killed and two others injured, according to a source close to Kurdistan authorities on Monday. “An old woman, who was injured by the Iranian shelling that resumed against Kurdistan Region’s border areas on Sunday, has died in hospital, whilst two other civilians have been injured,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. A source in Kurdistan’s Border Guards Command had reported on Sunday that the Iranian artillery had resumed shelling the border villages of Saidakan area of Soran Township , wounding an old woman. The border areas of Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region had been witnessing Turkish and Iranian attacks, under justification of chasing the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the ant-Tehran PJAK forces, killing and wounding dozens of people and causing severe damage that forced dozens of families to desert their home villages.
