Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi security forces started on Wednesday to close all roads leading to the gates of the Green Zone in central Baghdad, in anticipation of the demonstrations that are scheduled to take place today.
Alsumaria News quoted an official source as saying, “Security forces started to close all roads leading to the gates of the Green Zone in central Baghdad,” pointing out that, “Vehicles movement was banned completely in Abu Nawas Street.”
“Employees of the Green Zone started to leave the area in anticipation of clashes with the demonstrators,” the source said on condition of anonymity.
Demonstrations are expected to take place today in central the capital, Baghdad, calling for reforms, elimination of corruption and the dismissal of corrupted officials.
