Iraqi joint forces kill senior ISIS leader in Diyali

Diyali (IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, a security source in Diyali province said, that a senior leader within the ISIS group was killed in an ambush by the al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces on the borders between Diyali and Salahuddin regions.

The source informed IraqiNews, “A joint force supported by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi elements has set an ambush on the borders between the provinces of Diyali and Salahuddin in the area of Albu Riyash, located 85 km north of Baqubah,” pointing out that, “The ambush resulted in killing an senior leader within the ISIS group, known as Jalil Tamatah.”

“Jalil Tamatah, who is a farmer, was involved in supporting the ISIS group militants until he become one of the leaders of the group and fled from al-Azim district after it had been liberated by the security forces,” the source added.
