Iraqi paramilitary forces destroy IS largest hideout in Hamrin Mount

Diyala (IraqiNews) Commander of al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s 24th Brigade, Ziad Khalifa al-Tamimi, announced destroying the largest hideout of the Islamic State group in Hamrin Mountains, in Diyala Province.
The media cells of al-Hashd al-Shaabi quoted al-Tamimi as saying that the troops of al-Hashd al-Shaabi managed to destroy the largest hideout of the Islamic State terrorist group, in the area of Hamrin Mountains.
The hideout contained habitat for the Islamic State militants and their motorcycles, Tamimi explained. They also used that hideout as a cemetery for the IS casualities, he further added.
Diyala witnessed months of escalating fighting between Iraqi troops and IS militants, especially in Jalawla and Saadiyah areas, north of the province, in addition to some areas near the town of Muqdadiyah.
Al-Hashd al-Shaabi is a paramilitary militia and an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of some 40 militias that are mostly Shia Muslim groups, but also including Sunni Muslim, Christian, and Yazidi individuals as well.
