Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi security forces arrested a senior Islamic State member in Kikruk province, north of the country, local media reported Saturday.

Almaalomah website quoted a security source saying a security force arrested the terrorist at a residential building in the town of Hawija, a former group stronghold.

The forces found communication sets with the arrested member, according to the source.

Iraq recaptured all territories occupied by Islamic State militants in 2017, but security continue to hunt for remnant cells.
