Iraqi security forces cleanse Zankoura area, kill dozens of ISIS militants in western Ramadi

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Khalidiya Council in Anbar Province announced on Tuesday, that the security forces managed to fully cleanse Zankoura area in western Ramadi and raised the Iraqi flag over its buildings, while emphasized the killing of dozens of the so-called ISIS fighters during the cleansing battles.
The Head of Khalidiya Council Ali Dawood said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces were able to cleanse Zankoura area and raised the Iraqi flag over the government buildings after fierce battles, while killed dozens of ISIS members, as well destroying their strongholds.”
Dawood added, “The security forces were deployed in the liberated area and carried out a search operation in the houses and shops, in addition to dismantling the IEDs and booby-trapped buildings.”
