Iraq’s Interior Ministry sacks 14 officers, charged with forging their certificates.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Interior Ministry has sacked 14 officers, carrying different ranks, charging that they had forged their academic certificates, according to a report published by the semi-official Al-Sabah Newspaper on Saturday.   “An administrative order was issued at the end of last week to sack 14 officers, carrying different military ranks, most of them members of political parties that opposed the former regime, that ruled Iraq before 2003,” the newspaper quoted an Observation Body’s spokesman as saying.   The source did not give further details, but said that “a brother of one of one of the Interior Ministry’s officials, carrying a captain’s rank, was among the sacked officers.”   The newspaper had quoted Iraq ’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, with having issued an order early this year, addressed to the security ministries, to revise the files of officers of the security ministries in this respect.   SKH (ST)
