ISI/AQI leader killed in Falluja
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A force from the Falluja police killed a leading member of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar while other Falluja police forces arrested four wanted men in Wassit, according to an interior ministry statement on Saturday. “Clashes erupted in Falluja today (April 25) between the district police and terrorists, who attacked a checkpoint in the city, leaving a leading member of the ISI killed,” read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The source did not give more details. The State, announced to have come into being in October 2006, is an umbrella organization composed of seven armed groups, including al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). The ISI/AQI is active in central and western Iraq provinces. Meanwhile, policemen in Wassit province captured four wanted men in accordance with Article 4 of the law on terror, the statement added.
