ISIS leaves Hawija, retreats to Mosul after receiving painful blows from F-16
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Joint Special Operations Command announced on Monday, that the F16 fighter jets have bombed sites and a bridge in Hawija to cut off ISIS supplies, asserting that the latter left Hawija and headed towards Sharqat and Mosul.
The command said in a statement issued today and received by IraqiNews.com: “F16 warplanes carried out this evening painful strikes on ISIS headquarters and targets, pushing them to leave Hawija towards Sharqat and Mosul.”
The statement also added: “These aircraft also bombed Sadr al-Nahr Bridge northeast of Hawija and destroyed it completely,” noting that “the operation was based on accurate intelligence.”
