Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State members, disguised in uniform of the pro-government paramilitary troops, have killed four tribesmen in west of Nineveh, urging residents of five villages to leave, a security source was quoted saying on Thursday.

“Islamic State attacked the village of al-Shaqij, west of Hatra region and killed four members of Shamar tribe. The militants were disguised in the uniform of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces),” the source told Baghdad Today website.

The militants, according to the source, “stole amounts of jewelry of the victims. After the attack, five Arab tribes fled the region heading toward the camps of Tal Abta.”

On Wednesday, Interior ministry announced arrested 14 militants in Mosul. An Islamic State cell, composed of 13 militants, was arrested on Tuesday in a wide-scale security operation in western Ahlila village, west of the city.

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

The group still has dormant cells, through which it carries out attacks, across Iraq like it used to do before 2014.

In December, the Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi announced gaining control on all the territories that were captured by Islamic State, since 2014.
