Islamic State of Iraq claims responsibility for CBI attack

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The self-styled Islamic State of Iraq on Thursday claimed responsibility for the attack on the Central Bank of Iraq, during which 19 people were killed or wounded. Official spokesman of the Baghdad Operations Command, Maj. General Qassem Atta, had said last Sunday (June 13) that security forces foiled an attempt to storm the CBI in al-Rashied street in central Baghdad. “Four gunmen were killed and 15 citizens were killed or wounded in the operation,” the spokesman added.
