Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Al-Hashd al-Shaabi leader in Diyala, Ahmed al-Tamimi, announced on Monday, that joint security forces destroyed a boat and two hideouts belonging to the Islamic State group, as well as dismantling four explosive devices, northeast of Diyala.

Tamimi said in a press statement, “Joint security forces from army, police and al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s 24th brigade managed to destroy a boat belonging to the Islamic State, which was used by the group to transport in Diyala River, by a proactive operation to raid the terrorist group’s hideouts in areas on Diyala River, north of Mukdadiyah.”

“The proactive operation also resulted in dismantling four explosive devices and destroying two hideouts, one of which was used as cache of weapons and equipment, belonging to the Islamic State in al-Asyoud area, north of Mukdadiyah,” Tamimi added.

Earlier today, Tamimi announced launching a joint military operation to raid the hideouts of the Islamic State, as well as eliminating its sleeper cells in the northeastern areas of Diyala Province.
