Joint forces prepare to liberate Ramadi Island

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Anbar Operations Command announced today that the joint forces are preparing to liberate Ramadi and the operations to liberate the city will be launched once Khalidiya, which is situated in eastern Ramadi, is liberated.
The commander of Anbar Operations Major General Ismail al-Mahalawi said, “Security forces are preparing launch the second phase of their operations after liberating Khalidiya Island in eastern Ramadi. This phase will witness the liberation of Ramadi Island that includes Albu Ali al-Jassim, Albu Assaf and Albu Ziab in northern Ramadi.”
Mahalawi added, “Security forces destroyed dozens of IEDs, hideouts and tunnels that were used by ISIS in Khalidiya.”
