(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – US Secretary of State John Kerry revealed on Friday, that the United States is supporting the Iraqi government to enhance the professionalism of the Iraqi military, while pointed out that the security forces, backed by the US-led coalition are moving toward Mosul after cleansing Heet city from the so-called ISIS.

Kerry said during a hearing in front of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations followed by IraqiNews.com, “The international coalition in cooperation with its allies in Iraq and other countries in the region managed to achieve important achievements in Iraq, and liberated 40% of the Iraqi territory,” pointing out that, “We are advancing toward the city of Heet, and then we will move toward Mosul.”

Kerry added, “We cut ISIS supply routes between the city of Raqqa in Syria and Mosul,” noting that, “The United States is backing the Iraqi government in Baghdad in order to enhance the professionalism of its security forces.”
