Kirkuk, Salah al-Din on security transfer list

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The provinces of Kirkuk and Salah al-Din are on the Multi-National Force (MNF) list of security transfer to Iraqi authorities, according to a senior Iraqi military official on Sunday. “Kirkuk and Salah al-Din are included into the MNF plans of transferring security responsibilities to local Iraqi security forces,” Nusseir al-Aani, the vice-chairman of the Iraqi Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a press conference he held in Baghdad on Sunday. Wassit has received security duties from the MNF on October 29, thus becoming the 13th out of Iraq’s 18 provinces to receive their security duties. AmR (P)/SR 1
