Man arrested while smuggling war remnants to Iran
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A man was arrested near the Iraqi-Iranian borders in Wassit province while attempting to smuggle war remnants into the neighboring country, a local police source said on Saturday. “The seized items included military equipment,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Investigations are currently underway to reveal the bodies involved in the smuggling attempt, according to the source. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. SS (P) 1
