Man, wife killed by IED in Wassit
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: One civilian and his wife were killed Tuesday by an improvised explosive device in northern Wassit, according to a security source. “The bomb went off in a residential area in al-Suwiera district, north of Kut, killing a man and his wife instantly,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Police forces cordoned off the whole region and prevented citizens from approaching it,” he added, noting that the two victims were sent to the morgue. “Anti-Explosives Squad found today a weapons cache in al-Nuaamaniya district, north of Kut,” Colonel Abdulhadi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The depot contains light weapons and hand grenades,” he added.
