Mass grave with eight bodies unearthed in Abu Ghraib
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Police forces unearthed a mass grave that contained eight decayed bodies west of Baghdad on Thursday, according to a local security source in Abu Ghraib district. “The police discovered a mass grave in the area of al-Annaz, where decomposed bodies of eight killed civilians were found,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “According to descriptions and information available for the security agencies, the dead civilians had been local residents of different areas of Abu Ghraib district,” he added. The police had launched search operations in some areas a couple of days ago after collecting the necessary information and determining the spots suspected to have unidentified bodies that had been buried by armed groups that once controlled areas and villages in Abu Ghraib district a few years ago. “The corpses were removed to a morgue in the capital Baghdad to examine their DNAs and detect the identities of the dead civilians to hand over to their relatives,” the source noted.
