Millions of Shiite visitors flock Najaf to commemorate Imam Ali’s martyrdom

(IraqiNews.com) Najaf – The Imam Ali Shrine Authority announced on Sunday, that millions of visitors are flocking to Najaf to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali, stressing on the success of the security plan which did not result in any breaches during the ceremony.

Ali al-Husseini, from the Imam Ali Shrine Authority, said, “Millions of visitors flocked to the province to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali amid tight security,” adding, “Middle Euphrates Operations Command, in cooperation with the security forces in Najaf, set tight security plan designed to protect the visitors.”

Husseini added, “Most of the army and police sectors have contributed to the security plan,” further adding, “The security plan succeeded without recording any breaches.”
