Najaf celebrates success of its Eid security plan

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Police Command of Najaf province declared “The success of the security plan which was applied in the province during Eid al-Fitr.”

The Media Director of Najaf Police Command, Miqdad al-Moussawi, reported in statement to IraqiNews.com that ”The security plan which was implemented in Eid al-Fitr, is similar to the plan which was set for securing the martyrdom commemoration of Imam Ali,” noting that “It involved deploying about (36,000) police elements.”

The statement added that ”The intelligence elements and the military vehicles participated in success the security plan.”

The statement mentioned that ”The security plan included dividing Najaf province into three parts, the first includes the holy shrine of Imam Ali and the areas around it, the second involved Eshren square area till the holy shrine while the third included the northern and southern garages of the vehicles.”
