One gunman killed, 11 wanted arrested in Ninewa
NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Forces from the national police killed one gunman, southwestern Mosul, while Iraqi army forces arrested 11 wanted persons, western Mosul, Ninewa Operations Command’s official spokesperson said on Wednesday. “A national police force today killed a gunman at al-Matahin area (southwestern Mosul), after clashing with him,” Brigadier Khalid Abdulsattar told IraqiNews.com. “A force from the Iraqi army 3rd division today arrested 11 wanted persons at al-Baaj suburb and Rabeaa district (western Mosul),” he said. “The arrest operation took place though a raid campaign that targeted wanted persons’ presence areas, relying on intelligence tips,” he added. Abdulsattar did not mention further details about the two separate incidents, but noted “Interrogation is underway with the arrested persons.” Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
