Roadside bomb hits U.S. patrol in Baaquba

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: A roadside bomb on Tuesday went off targeting a U.S. patrol in Baaquba suburb, said a security source from Diala, while the province’s police commander said that a wanted woman was arrested south of Baaquba. “The roadside bomb went off in central Baaquba while a U.S. patrol was passing by,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “One of the patrol’s vehicles was heavily damaged,” he said. The source did not mention anything about casualties, while U.S. forces have not yet commented on the incident. For his part, Diala’s police commander said that his forces arrested a wanted woman accused of collaboration with Al-Qaeda fighters. “She was arrested in a military operation today in Bohroz district, 5 km south of Baaquba, which targeted a safe hide of the Organization,” General Abdulhussein al-Shemmary told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Different arms and ammunition were seized at the hide,” he said.
